A tragic incident unfolded at Ranchi's Pearl Apartment in the Chutia police station area, as a massive fire engulfed the building on Saturday morning. The fire claimed the life of an elderly man while leaving a woman severely injured.
The fire, which originated in one of the apartment flats, resulted in the tragic demise of the elderly man due to burns. Additionally, the sister of the deceased suffered serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital, where her condition remains critical.
Upon noticing smoke emanating from the apartment early in the morning, concerned individuals alerted the Chutia police. The fire was brought in control although entire house was reduced into ashes in the process. Authorities are investigating the cause of fire, with initial investigations pointing towards short circuit or similar electrical fault.
